She said that they have no more fee waivers to give and that they are going to be turning away numerous applicants in the 165 range. Does that sound possible? Hmm. I don't know.

Turning away applicants as in rejecting them? That's ridiculous...

Exactly. Yes, she said that they've received a flood of mid to high 160's candidates and that they will not be offering admission to many of them. I was baffled after that call. I gotta believe that the person I spoke to was way off. Maybe not though.

There is no way this is true. They would be lucky to have anyone with that kind of score agree to go there.

I bet you mistook 165 for 155.

Maybe they just meant that they are not giving fee waivers to that range of people, and that would be because they typically won't even bother applying...

Ha, I know the law school doesn't have that luxury. I love Gonzaga don't get me wrong (still an UG student), but Spokane is not the ideal place to live or study for three years. Many more applicants are drawn to Seattle U or UW.

That could be true, but I think I repeated "160's" after the other person said it and I enunciated the "X" to be clear. I don't know. :?

If they actually do this, the ensuing hilarity will be awesome.

True that. I can't wait to get out of Spokane.

I don't see why Gonzaga's alleged actions are so puzzling: do you folks not understand how matriculation rate affects the USNWR rankings or something?

I scored a 164 on the LSAT and to my surprise I was rejected from Gonzaga today. I'm very disappointed to say the least.

Washington State only has three law schools, so it could be true. But this sounds more like GU trolling to me.

And importantly... 2.3 GPA

only two applicants on LSN higher than 165, and I know one.

Way, way off into utter BS. There is no way Gonzaga raises their 155 median into the 160s in one year. Even if it were true that a flood of 160s applied, they wouldn't attend.

So, is my 2.3 GPA going to be a death sentence for me?

No, I did not say that, I did not even imply it. It, however, is an important piece of information when evaluating your statement.

Damn. Relax. You're the one posting your GPA.

Damn dude, I think you might need relax. He asked a pretty innocent question.

No, I don't think it's a death sentence, but you need to cast a wide net. Look on LSN for schools willing to overlook a low GPA for someone with your LSAT.

I think the lady meant that they will not be giving fee waivers to 165+ lsats like usual.
Not that they will be rejected after applying...
