Hey guys, I am a 1L at a school in the T14. I am pretty far from home and my fiance cannot move here because she is also finishing up a degree back home. I don't want to take any years off and I don't necessarily want to transfer so I started to look into 'visiting student' options. I know that certain schools by my family and my fiance accept visiting students for the 2nd year, but do all law schools allow their students to go visit a school during the second year? I am planning on meeting with someone from the law school to discuss my options soon, but I was just curious if anyone had any first hand experience with this. Ideally, I could spend my 2nd year as a visiting student, and then come back to the top 14 for my third year. I think it would break things up nicely and work easier for my fiance. Also, does it hurt your career prospects to spend your 2nd year at a lower ranked law school if it is possible?
