Early decision. It's on their website. They've extended their early decision deadline until March 1. If you change your application to ED, I think they would probably admit you straight away.

What the fuck, those numbers are not ED to UVA numbers. You'd be crazy to ED at UVA.

UVA is yield protecting you.

Only if (s)he wants to go to higher-ranked school. But UVA in-state would be hard to pass up, I'd imagine. Maybe Penn or Michigan or NYU would be worth shots, but only if the OP would rather be outside Virginia and has the money to pay full tuition. Minimal debt from UVA is better than mountains of debt from Penn.

Or money at GDNC, or her slim shot at HYS. Throwing all choice away to get off a UVA yield protect wait list? That is retarded.

Instate at UVA isn't all that great. Its 5K off.

I'm not hating on UVA, I'm hating on everyone in this thread telling to ED because of a waitlist.

Everyone is talking about YP which I think is funny bc I think my stats are pretty bad (lsat score..cough cough)

I hope you guys are right because Im not looking forward to a bunch of rejections.
I dont know if I would ED to UVA bc its not my top choice. I know everyone will Kill me but Id rather go to VAndy. Or if God really loves me, Duke.

I applied to:
Harvard (as a Hail Mary)
Chicago
Columbia
Berkely
NU
Penn
Michigan
UVA
Gtown
Vandy
Texas
OSU
Notre Dame
IU - bloomington

UVA's ED seriously pushed back to March 1st? For those with more experience, is this something I should look into? I'm a 3.27/170.

It's a worth a shot if UVA is your top choice. (I don't think you could get in anywhere competitive with UVA with those numbers without being URM.) UVA likes splitters.

You all are seriously overestimating the URM boost.
^ This.

I always figured mexican urm was worth around 5 LSAT points, AA around 10, and NA 10-15+. By no means is this something that is easily quantifiable, but I always thought that provided a useful guesstimate (for the boosts that *could* happen, but by no means guaranteed to happen).

You should get into a T14 if you blanketed them. You were competitive at UVA as a URM, but by no means an auto-admit. Also, if you tell UVA that you will absolutely positively attend if admitted (obviously, you need to mean this), they may admit you.
with their ED extension actions really can speak louder than words.

FYI, I may be risk averse, but to all the people telling you to hold out, it's not their future they're gambling with.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
