Yea if you take it in june and do bad you can retake it in sept./oct. Plus if you do well in June your apps can be sent (with score) as soon as the new applications are out.

June, retake Sept. is much better than Sept. retake Dec. Don't want to undermine your abilities, but with something so important, it's good to be a little cautious.

Thought it would be worth mentioning the obvious, that if you take the June test abroad (and "abroad" doesn't mean Canada or the Carribean), you'll be taking an undisclosed test that will most likely be a different one from the one that U.S. test center people are taking, and you'll only receive your score and percentage. No information whatsoever on which questions you got wrong, no disclosure of your answer sheet or the test itself, etc.

But I still agree with everyone else that taking it in June seems to be the better choice.

Whatever everyone said here is true -- timing is way better on a June/October schedule.

But just my 2 cents, I don't know why -- probably just coincidence -- but I tended to perform my best (in PTs and the real thing) on December tests, as opposed to June/October. No idea why this was, like I said, might have been pure coincidence.

My SO, as well, went up 4 points on December retake.

This. Plus the June LSAT is offered in the afternoon - if you're not a morning person this is a big plus.

sven wrote:The reason people keep giving me for June is that I would be able to retake in October. But I've already taken the test once and done pretty well so if I have to cancel or something, I'd probably be more comfortable just keeping my score than taking the test another time. In terms of applying to schools, is there a difference between sending in apps in September (with a June test) as opposed to in early November (with the October test)?

Edit:
Does anyone kno if the June test is offered in the afternoon in Europe too?
You can check the lsat site but I'm pretty sure that the June test abroad is in the morning... 8:30 am :(

no difference except you can retake if you do poorly in june. the only "bad" test date is february, because it's undisclosed
