um... yes? Its called a safety. Most people apply to at least one.

+1. Just to be safe, apply to a lower-ranked school or two where you're nearly a shoe-in. Most people try to pick an area of the country or city they'd enjoy practicing in, since the lower-tier schools tend to be more regional.
