This! Added to that, I would love to see a locate post/page function "within" each thread, a quick search function that locates and shows all of a members' posts within a thread, and the direct responses (quotes) to them.

Here's another idea.

Posters often start threads whose topics have been beaten to death. Why not have keywords searches within topic lines, so that a poster is warned if the topic might have been covered. Develop a standard vernacular where posters can build their topics through dropdown boxes that start out general, like, "Where to Apply", and successively get more specific, like dropdown = Divertity", then dropdown = "Most Diverse Schools". I would liken it to what employers now use in their job search websites.

The latter would have a dropdown box that approximates OP's index and compares with another poster who may have had similar numbers and asked about the same school. This would save space in your network by eliminating new posts with same/similar topics, and make things much more convenient for users. OP's could still have the option of starting an altogether new thread, but only after navigating to the end of the dropdown boxes.

Each topic would probably require between 4-10.

Think that many users find it difficult to get good answers for law career questions.
Questions like:
What is the typical work day like for a (whatever specialty) attorney?
Which specialty is growing in demand?
What is the job market like for (whatever specialty) law?
How much deeper into a class are IP firms willing to hire into for students with technical backgrounds?

Most replies are from 0L - 3L who have limited exposure to working in industry.
As a result, the discussions are typically based on something someone heard rather than actual experience.

Would be nice if TLS could attract some folks from the different specialties in law who have been working in the field for a while to come share their perspective in the legal employment forum. Just like in the "Discuss your LS" forum where you find useful threads like "3L from ___ school taking questions", it would be great to see a thread like "IP licensing attorney w/ 5 years experience taking questions." in the Legal Employment forum.

Understand that this isn't a trivial task given how busy attorneys are. But perhaps Ken can turn on his charm and draw from his vast network to bring in some industry guests or TLS alumni to beef up the Legal Employment forum.
