Heh. I had a 12 point jump and just finally got mail from Ave Maria. Course my jump was to a 170. Maybe if you went higher than that you hit their upper cutoff. Also, I'm all in the same cycle... but Florida Coastal, etc., contacted me after the first score. Not until today did Ave Maria.

Minnesota, USC, UCLA, Denver, Ave Marie, Tulsa, and Pepperdine

I'm glad a bunch of the crappy schools aren't bothering me like they did after the September LSAT, too.

Anyone have an info on Cornell, Emory, or UT-Austin? Sent out merit based request e-mails yesterday with a 170 LSAT and these are the only ones I haven't heard back from.

Maybe you're their reach candidate... putting out the offer but not expecting much. Sounds like a few of the schools on my list.

Arizona gave me an unrequested waiver after giving me a solicited one yesterday. I can apply TWICE, hehe.

Also, University of St. Thomas (Mpls.). Sure thing, buddy.

Yea, and to whoever didn't have that option, I replied with "remove".

I agree with this. It's a goofy little ego boost, but as the list grows it makes me feel....wanted.

They'll also give you a full ride with free housing for the first year before summarily yanking it after you miss the top 10%.

I wasn't considering applying, but is that really their M.O.?
Oh, yeah, I expected you weren't applying - the first law school thread I read was SA's "Go to Valpo, Dine on Alpo", but yes this appears to be their M.O. They give out a ton of full rides and ride/stipends, but they have really harsh requirements for renewal. I think Akron and Toledo in Ohio both do the same thing.

why don't they love me? I know someone's who there for undergrad now. They love him just fine =(
I'm pathetically clinging to UVA calling me impressive in that fee waiver email. It's a better school... you'd think I wouldn't worry.

Valparaiso Law is nicknamed Valpo. The town's name (where the school is located) is actually Valparaiso. If you want to practice within a 25-mile radius of the school, it's pretty good hehe. It's in NW Indiana, but it has no reach to Chicago, and obviously can't compete with ND either.

The UG is very good, though - 3rd in the Midwest for USNWR's ranking of Midwest Master's level Universities. They do give out a lot of scholarships for UG too.

UT-Austin wrote back and said they don't give out merit-based fee waivers. No spiel about CRS, just a flat no.

Can anyone else confirm this. It seemed like they gave out waivers in some other threads. Texas was on my list of places if I got a fee waiver to it.

Also any word on Cornell, Georgetown, or Columbia, solicited or not. They are the only schools on my list that seem to give out waivers that I have yet to hear from. I will most likely try and solicit them tomorrow.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
