It's mangoes, not mangos.

This PS baffles me. You go on vacation to Jamaica, climb a tree, get inspired by poverty? What does that have to do with the rest of it?

Is this your DS or PS?

Thoughts:

-I enjoyed the mango opening.
-Though, this situation, in the context that you're telling the story, comes off as a tad contrived. It just seems, at least in my experience, that most kids in mentorship type program are naturally resistant and/or suspicious.
- In the first paragraph you talk about how this mango experience helped you take the first step in defining who you are today--so, I was looking for something on a much larger scale, I wasn't sold on this story with Jim.
