I put my LSAC ID, my name, and "Page X" at the top of every page.

I'll probably put my LSAC ID on top of my resume too, since I already have my name on it and it is only one page long.

Good idea, thanks!

What about a title? Did anyone use any type of title for their PS, or did you just start the PS itself on the first line?

I didn't use a title, and I've heard from a few sources that it's not a good idea.

What if you have a personal statement, diversity statement, and addendum? How will they tell these 3 things apart?

I put my name and what it was. Probably what you do for school papers.

Full Name
Personal Statement

Full Name
Diversity Statement
And you get the point. That was a really good idea to put the LSAC#. I would make sure your full name is on it if nothing else.

So you are saying: head it, but just make sure it is small and not a title or something?

Yes, a header is different from a title. Headers usually go on the left hand corner of the paper, whereas a title goes in the middle.

Are you using Word? Go to View - Header and Footer and you can type in your header. Insert - Page Numbers lets you add page numbers to your document.

Is the left better than the right? I've always headed on the right......

Oh I don't think that matters too much. Different majors put it on different sides.

On this note, what are you guys doing for the addenda? Including them in the main document of the PS (ie, the page numbers continue from the PS), making a new addenda document with multiple addenda on a single page, or including them as their own separate documents taking up a single page each?

I am adding the header in the following manner.

First Name Last Name: LXXXXXXXX
Personal Statement

I have a header on one line that has: "First and Last name" left justified; "PERSONAL STATEMENT" centered; and "LSAC Account #LXXXXX" right justified.

I also have "page x of x" in the footer.

My DS and addendum are the same, but for schools that have a specific question for the DS (like Mich) I'll make sure it reflects that, so It'll say "Optional Essay Seven" or something....

I have a dilemma. My personal statement goes all the way to the page limit. When I add the header, it looks distracting. Did anyone else have this problem and, if so, what did you do to solve it?

I was thinking putting it in the footer instead but I don't know how I feel about that.

Any advice?
