Hello, I have a personal statement that is almost nearly finished.
While picking a topic I came to a fork in the road, should I focus on my Computer Science major/background/job history, or should I focus on my family heritage where I am the eldest son of my generation which carries huge weight in my culture. In the family focused essay I also discuss a bankruptcy/foreclosure of my home my family went through and how that led me to pursuing law.
Which topic do you see as more compelling to adcoms, specifically Berkeley?

Depends on whether you made two strong statements out of the PS draft you submitted in another thread. If the computer science statement is just a fleshed out resume', then I would say one PS that also acts as a DS is enough.170orDie wrote:Hello, I have a personal statement that is almost nearly finished.

Thank you all for your advice. I am very nearly finished with the Family/Heritage PS, so I will be posting that later for your guys' thoughts. Based on the advice I will either modify it to fit a Diversity statement and write a new personal statement, or I will keep it and submit.
Once again, thank you.
