Reapplying: revised vs new essay

Post by law_dawg18 » Mon Nov 30, 2015 10:05 pm

Hi all,

Among my list of schools I'm applying to for this cycle is a school that I've applied to in the past. The instructions say to not re-submit the same content if you reapply: I've completely rewritten my personal statement for the better but I'm torn about what to do with regard to my diversity statement. I've rewritten a lot of it but have also kept major parts such as the introduction and the general theme in place.

Is this Kosher? or should I completely rewrite my essay?

I feel like I should, but I also think that I've revised it for the better. The entire focus of my diversity statement is this one theme and I think what I have now may be the best way of talking about it.

My guess would be that submitting the same (or a similar) diversity statement is fine. But might be better off asking the admissions office.
