How is my education gap addendum?

Postby Anonymous User » Tue Dec 23, 2014 4:26 pm

I started working full time during my senior year of college to pay my tuition and help my mother cover medical and emergency expenses. That was the first time in my life when I felt fully capable of caring for my family and my desire to continue providing in that way, combined with the shortsightedness of my youth, eventually shifted my priorities to place work ahead of completing my degree. I stopped taking classes in the summer of 2005, and I returned to school in 2012 after clarifying my goals for the future and realizing the limitations that my earlier decision had placed on my achievement.

In the 2006, during my senior year of undergraduate, I withdraw from college and started working full time in an effort to support my family and assist my mother with medical expenses. At the time this was the best option for me because..... I continued to work full time until 2012 when I reevaluated my educational and professional goals. I returned to college and completed my undergraduate degree in XXXXXX. I feel that this break in education provided me with a wealth of life experience that will ultimately make me a better and more prepared law student.

That's where I would go with it.

Yeah, more like cmac's purely factual one, except I'd leave off the last sentence BSing about a 'wealth of experience' or whatever. Just say "this is what happened." They're not asking for an excuse justifying a gap in your education, just an explanation of what caused it. You don't need to make it sound so defensive.
