don't expect them to understand the law and/or be on the plaintiff side of a case.
I can understand the former, but why the latter? I wouldn't bring up either. Accusing people of racism isn't nice, if you're using intuition as evidence.

Anyway, it sounds like an okay topic. Execution will make the difference between a good PS or a terrible one.

Tell the story behind the case. Don't use any jargon. Let the reader infer all your good qualities from the story.
