Personal Statement Topic Opinion

Just wanted to get some opinions on a couple of personal statement topics that I consider most valid in my life and just see where you all may rank them.

A. Lessons I learned being involved as a member of a State Emergency Response Team responding to the Deepwater Horizon Gulf Oil Spill.
B. Growing up with an illiterate mother and assisting her as I grew up. (Desire to pursue education in light of my experience with parents with absolutely no education).
C. Joys of being a father and my drive to provide for my daughters.

I am not necessarily going for the cliche "I had a hard life, so this is why I should be admitted". I would rather be admitted based on my own merit and achievements. So what do you all think? Any other angles you may take with these topics?

Thanks!

I vote for B. I think you could get something out of that.

A sounds interesting, and being from the Gulf area, I'd be interested to read it. I don't know if it quite has as much potential as B.

Hard to tell until you write them. Good Luck!

If you're pretty old (how old are you btw?)

I think you can combine B and C, with more emphasis on C would be nice.

Well, I guess it is all relative, but I am 34. The idea to combine B & C is a nice one. Possibly focussing on setting a positive educational example for my girls (2 & 4) would be a nice angle. I appreciate that thought

I mentioned A because my experience with environment protection lead me to consider pursuing environmental law. Would it be too forward to go ahead and proclaim my intended focus in the personal statement? I have heard that I should be keeping an open mind and not focus on what I want to do so early in my law school career.
