Format/Style of an Addendum Explaining Low GPA Forum

What is the best way to write an addendum explaining a low GPA (2.7)?

Is the best way to write addendum just to cut to the chase and briefly explain why my GPA is so low, or should I go beyond that I try to provide support for why my undergraduate grades are a poor predictor of my ability to do well in law school, highlight other (better) indicators, and take it as an opportunity to be much more persuasive?
