Diversity Statement

Post by luhrenzo » Tue Oct 18, 2011 12:34 pm

I'm going to include a diversity statement as addendum. Is their an appropriate length for this? I don't want to write a second personal statement but I think including a diversity statement would be useful.

Hi - it should be about 1 page double spaced 12 font ... unless of course the application for a specific school says something different.

Diversity statements are not addenda. Addenda are usually explanations of disciplinary records, as well as specific circumstances affecting GPA and LSAT scores.

That said, diversity statements should be about a page, 11 to 12 point font (favorites: Times New Roman, Calibri, Arial, or Garamond). Maximum of 500 words, but a minimum of 200.

I am curious to know; should the DS or PS have a title?

It should just be: "[Name], [LSAC #], [Type of Document]".

This goes on the actual PS/DS document?

Should the PS/DS be in Word or in a PDF?

Word. LSAC won't let you upload PDFs - you upload everything as a Word document and it will convert the whole app into one big PDF for you.
