Question About Each School's PS

Post by Klinklang » Fri Jul 22, 2011 7:12 pm

Can I send a different Personal Statement with each application? I'm not writing any "Why X" essays, but am including in each version of my PS a reason why I'm interested in each school. Does anyone know if this strategy is compatible with LSAC's application process? Thanks!

It is compatible with the process. LSAC allows you to upload a different personal statement (or resume, or addendum, etc) for every law school application. It also allows you to upload files and assign them to multiple schools. It does not force either option.

A word of caution with your strategy, however: be sure to integrate the school-specific content well into each statement. I suspect that schools dislike getting something that seems formulaic, on the order of, "And that is why I would like to attend _____."

Okay, that sounds good. Yeah, it's not just substituting names lol. I feel like each of the schools I'm applying to have unique qualities I like, so I'm going to highlight why those are appealing.

Thanks for the info bud!
