I'm working on my PS but it involves some really sensitive subject matter. I don't know it is controversial/TMI for admission. Do you any of you feel like giving it a read through? It's in very very rough draft form.

Do you really want a stranger (ie adcomm) reading your TMI?

Speak of your personal struggles if you must, but don't incite a controversy in your PS. Feel free to send me a PM if you wish however.

Sounds like you should change topics if it is a 'very sensitive subject,' unless perhaps you can masterfully spin it somehow..

Well, with a teaser like that, now I'm dying of curiosity. PM me your PS and I'll let you know what I think.

whatever the topic is, be sure that you do not give an adcom any reason to doubt your ability to perform well in law school. actually, be sure that whatever the subject is, you give an adcom confidence that this subject will prepare you for the rigors of law school more than the average applicant.

I always tell people to use the same tone that you would use if you were sitting down with a friend for coffee. Not a close friend but a classmate or coworker. That's essentially the role the adcomm will play in your interaction with her/him, except it will be all one-sided -- you talking, the adcomm listening. Adcomms do not like TMI. I knew adcomms who would scrawl something like "save it for your therapist" or "how about writing a novel?" on the evaluation. You are, after all, applying for a school that will train you to work as a highly paid professional. You don't want to come across as someone with a lot of issues.

I'm not particularly addressing this to the OP because I haven't seen your PS, just saying, in general.
