definitely do not put a disclaimer at the top - it would be best to attach an addendum explaining the seriousness of the situation and the negative impact cutting your PS down would cause - just make sure you keep the addendum down to no more than 1-2 pages

Nothing warrants 3 1/2 pages when told to limit it to 2. "Facing up to life in prison" is something. Therefore, "Facing up to life in prison" does not warrant 3 1/2 pages when told to limit it to 2.

Going chopchoppy with an axe may cut out things you think are important, but you don't need to tell the adcomms absolutely everything - getting it short and concise will really improve unity. If you want some assistance in seeing how you might be able to do it, I just went through the same thing.

Look at paper one more time. Try to edit just a few words. Put paper down for a few hours. Pick paper back up and try to edit just a few more words. Do this throughout the day and evaluate your final product. If you get to the point where you feel it is bare bones than submit the damn thing and be sure it's a GOOD 3 pages. There is a thread on here somewhere of an applicant who wrote over 1500 words and ended up at W&M I think it was. If you're exceptional past needs explaining then explain it.
