Hey!
I am in desperate need with my personal statement.
I have a lot of volunteer service, both in and out of the law. I served with AmeriCorps and am currently in the Peace Corps (rockin out South Africa as we speak). I know i am an excellent candidate for law school...but cannot seem to get my personal statement to reflect my breadth of life experiences. Anyone willing to help??

Message me on here, or email me at sharon.wegner@gmail.com

Cheers,
Sharon

One tip: You don't necessarily have to reflect the breadth of your life experiences, at least not in detail. If you've done Americorps, Peace Corps and other volunteer work, mention all of it on your resume and then use your PS to hone on on the most personally important one to you - or the one that most influenced your decision to go to law school, etc. (To ensure that the adcomms don't overlook all the rest of your impressive background, you could mention it briefly in the PS as well, as sort of a lead-up to the main experience you want to talk about.) Peace Corps might be your strongest bet objectively, but really it should be whatever you can write most compellingly about - demonstrating your ability to think about the world around you and interact positively with it. With your background I can't imagine you'll be bereft of individual stories/experiences like this. (At the same time, don't beat yourself up if you feel like you are. Try a freewrite about an experience; it can often draw out an event or a theme that turns out to be more significant than you think.) Good luck.
