It doesn't flow that well in places, like where you mention working on the Innocence Project and then say that you could work on the Innocence Project at Duke- Try consolidating ideas like this into a single sentence. Also don't use the space in a "Why X" essay to summarize the history of a program. I'm sure the people who work at Duke already know more about the Duke drama society than you do, and they don't need you to mention its membership increases. Only talk about what the Innocence Project methodology is if no other school has similar methodology and you find Duke's strategy particularly compelling.

Remember the point of a "Why X" essay is to convince the people reading your app that you would attend if accepted. It's good that you mention projects and societies because that shows you have a genuine interest in the school. Maybe throw in a few professors that sound particularly interesting to you, or explain why Duke would help you with your career goals more so than peer institutions.

And for the love of God, don't say that Duke is "one of your top choices." They're a top school, they already know that they are one of your top choices. They want to know why they are a higher choice than UVA or Penn or Berkeley or whoever (even if in reality they aren't). Ending your essay like this negates the entire reason for writing one.

Thanks St. Remy, I edited it a bit...your right it sounded off. I will add things that distinguish duke from other schools in their. Professors will be a good way to do that, Thank you for looking this over, appreciate it!
