Any advice for PS #2?

Hi all,

I wrote a solid PS last cycle and applied to a huge reach school. I was about at their 25th's for GPA and LSAT. Unsurprisingly, I was rejected. I retook the LSAT and am now above their 75th, so I stand a good shot of getting in. It's my number one school at the moment, so I'll be EDing.

The website says this about those who re-apply: "Applicants who decline an offer of admission or were not offered admission may reapply. Your reapplication should include: submission of a new application, application fee, a valid LSAT and updated LSDAS report, personal essay, and recommendations. We retain application files for only one year after the year of original application. Your retained application and all supporting documents will be included in your new application for admission. We suggest that you freshen your application with a new personal essay, resume, and letter(s) of recommendation."

My first essay was a travel/study abroad type. It was a good one and I think it helped me get into some reach schools (below medians). I'm not sure where to begin on writing my second one.

Anyone who has written a PS twice have any recommendations? Can I reuse portions of my essay?

I would re-write it, but its substance could be more or less the same. I.e., you could tell the same story as before. Avoid giving the person reviewing the application the impression that you simply used the same essay over -- make sure it's clear you put some thought and effort into your new application.
