hi everyone,

i was wondering what people were going to do about law books. now that the schedules are posted and we know specific classes, is everyone planning on buying new or at the used booksale on campus next week? anyone checked out buying books online at some of the discount law book stores? has anyone bought the E&E supplements?

I'm trying to sort that out myself. I was hoping to use financial aid money to buy books as well, but we won't get our financial aid refunds until after the second week of class, which means we can't use that to buy books (unless we just use it to pay off credit cards, which isn't quite the same thing).

Books are crazy expensive. Daaamn.

they said we may get a partial refund soon. also i think as soon as you activate your access card you get 1000 dollar credit

ah i hate buying textbooks every year. well, here we go again.

btw, thanks to facebook, a bunch of SCU 1L'ers are going to be at Pluto's in Santana Row at 1pm on Monday. hopefully you guys can all make it.

I'm gonna go down to the bookstore and buy books today. I foresee a giant credit card bill this month.
Also, about lunch on mon. is the facebook group lunch where all you TLS'rs are going? or are we planning a more exclusive (and therefore more awesome) TLS lunch?
Also, sjk, no spam for you at orientation, I don't move into my place until the 15th so I'll be living in a motel until then. Thus, no kitchen. No kitchen means no stove. No stove means no cooked spam. And cooked spam is the only way to fully enjoy spam. I'll bring you some on the first day of class.

I guess we are going to the facebook lunch at 1. But mikee isn't available til 3 so after lunch we should go get mikee then go get coffee or tea tea tea with just the TLSers.

Is anyone else getting a random geology book mixed in with your recommended book list on the campus bookstore website? It's kinda random... I'm fairly certain civ pro doesn't require a mastery of geology right?

Did you buy them all? How much did they all cost?

I was just looking at what I would need online. I think just the required books came to like 650 if you get them new.
Add in some E&E's, hornbooks, commercial outlines, etc and you're looking at quite a lot I'd imagine.

Also, there's bowling going on on tuesday at 7 (pm I'm assuming). anyone going? details are on the facebook page.

I don't even know where Plutos is.... someone from the area better plan this.

if anybody needs a ride let me know too. i'm staying at my parents crib for now, which is in san jose. not sure if i can make it out to plutos, but i will definitely make it to coffee afterwards with us TLSers (moving into my apartment tomorrow... with the girlfriend )
