HAHA I bought a new backpack like 2 weeks ago. It was on ebags.com and it was the Ogio Metro. It got great reviews from law students.
Valrp got a bag that made her look like a kindergartner (it was HUGE) but I love her anyway!

hey! SHhhhhhhhh about that!

For the record, it is being returned. It was larger than my upper torso. No lie. Stay away from the Ebags Macroloader.

I have a picture of this to prove it.

Sweet. give me a call when details are arranged. My phone number is... on second thought, if you guys want my number check my facebook page. I'm afraid of UD (and others) prank calling me if I give it out on the forum.

AWWW....monday lunch sounds great but my parents' flight is leaving at 4pm.....so I would prefer perhaps a late lunch?? (like around 3 or depending on when they go to the airport) Or dinner, whatever you want to call it, I just can't do it earlier...bummer, I know...but sometimes family obligations have to come first :D Oh, and my cell number is also on facebook. If you don't have access to my profile, I am the creator of the SCU class of 2011 facebook group, so you can add me as a friend and then you can see it..or you can pm me here on TLS and I can send it to you

Wow, mac people are defensive...Calm down, I really like Mac and everything it's just that, if you are an experienced PC user, there is really no reason to switch unless you absolutely love mac hardware (like the Macbook Pro...which is sooo sexy, but expensive: $2000! Yikes!) I was just emphasizing that for people that want to use windows regularly, having a PC is more reliable and it would be pointless to have a mac laptop and not run mac osX at least most of the time! Phew...rant!

Ha -- no need for a rant, I wasn't getting defensive. I just didn't understand the drama over it. Sure, if you're more used to Windows, stay with Windows. No sense having to learn a whole new operating system on top of starting law school. But like you, I didn't see the point of having a Mac and trying to bother with Bootcamp / VMware unless absolutely necessary. That's all I was saying.

Lunch Monday sounds good to me. When and where? I don't know the area at all, and I don't think my car will have arrived by Monday, but my 511.org-fu is mighty. Point me at a location and I'll figure out how to get there!

Is anyone going to the APD Orientation on Tuesday?

Did lunch or dinner ever happen?

I hope to be there. Seems to be a worthwhile event to attend.

5 days until move in, one week until orientation.

Woot...

I heard there's going to be free food there. Seems like a good enough reason to go, regardless of whether or not I plan on using APD's services in the future.

Wow sjk...wut happened? I thought all the "cool" people knew about APD Orientation. I think I might be going to that. Why aren't you in the loop?
renwoshin wrote:

Anyways, if you want to know, it's the academic and professional development first year adademic success program orientation. The program is from 4-5 in bannan (I felt like spelling "banana") hall room 142 and a reception at 5:15-6:30. You have to rsvp by august 8 to Jan Lam at apd@scu.edu. I don't know if it is special, but like M53201 says, there is free food and they're going to give tips on how to study, i think. Seems like M53201 is going, and I'm probably going, so you and sjk should go too!

whoooohoooo, I'm homeless still. I'll be looking for places tomorrow, but the places I checked out today (that I was really hoping would be good) were... less than satisfactory. Anyone know of places to live, or people needing roommates?

yea dude, I just read what you said over on the facebook group. Sorry, can't really help you there. I pretty much don't know anything about the rent/apartment situation at SCU, so yea...but i'm crossing my fingers for you to have good luck.

thanks, I guess it is my fault for being over confident in my ability to find a good place. Oh well, I'll keep looking. Hopefully I can get something decent.

I took a class on how to study/take notes at a CLEO thing I went to a few weekends ago. The lady who ran it apparently implemented a program at SCU on how to study so maybe its the same thing...I found it incredibly informative.
Did they send an email inviting people? I didn't get anything on it...lol maybe they are excluding people haha
Either way, I don't care! I will go!

And Micah, where are you staying now???

I'm under a bridge...
jk jk, I'm staying with my brother. He's in the area this week for business and so it was a lucky coincidence that I can stay with him in his hotel until the weekend. (other wise I would have rented a motel or something). Hopefully I can find something in the next day or two though...

Also I've got a couple of leads for tomorrow. Or I might end up living a few miles from the school and just bussing it every day (and probably getting a car eventually).

Sure TLSers can sit together!
I will drag Val with me...lol although she will probably want to go anyway.

As for the living thing, I actually live 25 minutes away from campus so I will be driving in. It doesn't seem that bad for me.

25 minutes? is that with traffic or without? doesn't really seem like too bad of a commute

That's cool. Good to hear that living far isn't too much of a hassle. Seems to me like commuting isn't so bad in the area. It's not like LA or NY in terms of traffic anyway... or so it would seem.
