Forgot to mention this when the time was right, but oh well...
Mondo Burrito has become a mainstay for both SCU students and residents of the area. $7 gets you a massive burrito that most people fail to down in one sitting. To top it off, the burritos are great. You can eat there Renwoshin.

Re: Santa Clara University Class of 2011
Hi,
I have just finished my first year at Santa Clara, and I will sadly be moving. I have absolutely loved the school, but desire to work in the Federal Gov’t which makes it more practical for me to relocate to the Washington area for the remainder of law school. I just received notification that I have been admitted to another school, and accordingly want to post two comments on this board.
First, I have the best apartment available for a Santa Clara Law Student. It is a small complex with 8 other units, and is, for the most part, very quite. The residents consist of a couple middle aged singles, another law student, a teacher, a young professional couple, and a couple of undergraduate girls. I can literally see the campus from my back window— it is three blocks away. The unit has two bedrooms and rents for around $1,600. I am not too sure about the market around here, but I know some other fellow students who are paying over 2K per month for a two bedroom in a crummy complex.
I only mention this because it would have been helpful for somebody to do the same for me last year, and I also want to help out the landlord. The apartment will be available around the 10th of August I believe. (I will be moving out the first week) If you’re interested, email me at: cohn.12345@gmail.com and I will get you in contact with the landlord. The address is: 855 Main St. Santa Clara CA, if you want to check it out on Google Earth.
Secondly, I spent a lot of money on supplements this year. I am not sure what anyone will tell you at the start of the year, but USE SUPPLEMENTS. Those who don’t, usually, are sorry after the semester. (they probably won’t tell you this at orientation) So, if anyone is interested in Law Supplements, I am offering mine for sale. However, I will only sell all of them as a bundle. The supplements I have are “Gilberts” and “Examples and Explanations” for all of the first year subjects. (Torts, Crim. Law, Civil Procedure, Contracts, Con Law, and Property) “Gilberts” cost me $40 each, and “Examples and Explanations” cost me $30 each. I will sell them all for $150. Some of the books are marked up, while some are not as much; yet all are completely legible. The supplements are just highlighted, or, in some, they have notes in the margin. If you’re interested email me. (cohn.12345@gmail.com) I will not ship the books to you so you’ll have to be able to pick them up in Santa Clara before the first week of August.
Congratulations and good luck. Santa Clara treats law students very good.

dang it, that means i need leopard... b/c they expired the boot camp version for Tiger (which is such a typical big-corporation move...); we're not allowed to use parallels when using examsoft, btw, which makes sense.

So this coming week we can be expecting a new letter from school? Is my understanding of this correct? I hope so.

I hope it's a packet. Apparently, if we don't have anything by tomorrow (July 1st) we should call the school and ask what's up. I think they are just later with the packets than expected, though.M53201 wrote:So this coming week we can be expecting a new letter from school? Is my understanding of this correct? I hope so.

Ya, lunch was fun.
And why return the flash drive? Something tells me we will all have one in tow over the next year.
Val, I will get back to you about your question later on today. Sorry about the delay. I will explain why later.

Hey! I'm just trying to help you out by getting all of the shopping out of the way so we don't spend our loan money on unnecessary things.sjkarlina wrote:we bought a flash drive but i returned it yesterday lol. it was an impulse buy. we also went to borders and urban outfitters!

also, the free ipod is after mail in rebate. If you buy it with the school discount, you have to pay up front for the ipod (299 for the ipod touch or 199 for the ipod nano) then send in whatever forms and you get a rebate eventually. Theres also a similar deal with printers if you order from apple.

I think the only problem I would have with a PC is defending it before all of the Mac fans!

For non-facebookers:
Hey I just figured out how to access our SCU email accounts, and therefore add ourselves to the effbook network for SCU grad students.
Log in to your ecampus account (scu.edu/ecampus), then in the left-hand tabs click "personal portfolio," and in the drop down menus you'll see "SCU electronic information." Click it and you'll see your groupwise ID and password.
To log into groupwise just go to scu.edu/groupwise

It's cool, I'm totally not a mac fan. I'm planning to get some Dell and Lenovo stickers to put on my mac book.

yeah for sure if you're getting a PC, get a thinkpad. i really don't think you can go wrong if you get a mac or a thinkpad. both are really reliable. it's just that come exam time, us mac users will need to configure extra stuff to get windows onto our machines...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
