I have a question about securing loans. I selected Sallie Mae Education Trust as my Stafford Loan lender. However, I'm confused as to whether Sallie Mae is considered a UCLA lender or an electronic lender. Depending on which category Sallie Mae falls under, I'm supposed to do slightly different things?

According to UCLA's website:
"If you are applying for a Stafford or a GPLUS loan at UCLA for the first time and chose one of UCLA's lenders, or if you selected a different lender than the one you borrowed with in the past, you must complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN). If you selected to borrow from one of the electronic lenders, you can do so by accessing OpenNet. You will be contacted by your paper lender if you selected to borrow from them."

This URL seems to suggest that Sallie Mae is both a UCLA lender and an electronic lender. http://www.law.ucla.edu/home/index.asp?page=2744

Thanks for the heads up! I'm in section 9. It's pretty afternoon-heavy with only one class on Friday (pre-lawyering skills section assignment). Pretty good!

Skills section assignments don't happen until next week, unless you got another email.

does anyone know how many people are in each section? i thought it was 70-80 people? but it seems like theres way too many sections for that. am i just hallucinating and confusing the class size with another school?

As I understand it, the class is broken down into 12 "official" sections. If you take a look at the schedule it looks like you can also break down the incoming class into 4 "big" sections where multiple sections pretty much share the same classes and schedule (sections 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12). I think it will be closer to 20-25 people in each of the 12 sections and the classes (except for skills) will be the ones comprising 3 sections and closer to 70-80 people total. Hope that makes sense!

anyway, I actually have a question after that long-winded intro -- not sure if this has been discussed somewhere else, so forgive me for not scouring the forums -- but are any of you planning on buying a law dictionary? black's law or anything like that? i read some other places where ppl said it was a waste of money but i wanted to find out what my fellow bruins thought. :)

i've been researching books today, and it seems like you can get plenty of your definitions online for less money or free. i'm planning on going to my classes first. if any of the professors recommend we get black's, then i'll invest in one. otherwise, i'm saving my sixty bucks.

what classes/profs does everyone have?
so far i have dolovich for criminal law, banner for property, and grady for torts.

It took me 20 minutes to find that link.

I'm not too pleased with how the Intranet site is organized... :?

So far pretty good. I have huge gaps between class every day so I've been able to get reading done (heavily motivated by my wanting to avoid carrying the books to and from campus ha).

1. Does UCLA do rolling admissions?
2. If UCLA does not do rolling admissions, does anyone know when the next batch of acceptances/rejections/wait lists is coming?
