Working as a legal lawyer is one of the most lucrative career option.

What's a legal lawyer? Are you just being redundant or do you actually mean to set this up in opposition to being an illegal lawyer? I guarantee you that it is much more lucrative to be an illegal lawyer...

Just something to consider...

I was accepted to NYLS and thought the $30,000/year scholarship was nice, then realized it required Top 15% in the class.

It was, by a good margin, the highest requirement of any school I had gotten scholarships to.

Don't get me wrong, I think I would be Top 15%, but there's an awful lot on the line to have such tight standards.

Also, and I never pursued this, I was curious as to what percentage of the class gets scholarships that require Top 15%.

Like I said, just something to consider.

Best of luck, I wish I was living there.

Definitely something to consider. I would think most people in the top 15% are those who are receiving scholarships anyway, although I'm sure this is not the case with everyone in the top 15%. As for how many people are offered some kind of scholarship, I don't know the answer to that question, but yes, I assume the number is higher than 15% (probably closer to 30-40%?). But remember, some people might be receiving 10,000 / year, others more..

Anyone know anything about Orientation yet? I know some schools like WUSTL go all out for orientation and make the 1Ls really comfortable. Anything that you may know or have heard about NYLS' orientation would be great

I've looked on the website, and I think NYLS' orientation is basically a "First Week of Classes" in which only First Year students start classes, and attend a bunch of faculty lectures, etc...
