Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
Just paid my deposit -- yippee!
I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn. I love my neighborhood, my apartment is huge, and it's waaay cheaper than school housing... so I think I'll be staying there. On the downside, it takes me about 30 minutes to get to the West Village from home.
If anyone has questions about nabes in Brooklyn, feel free to ask me!

Did anyone who deposited on the 14th get anything from them yet? Is it time for paranoid freakout time yet? I HAD TO WITHDRAW FROM OTHER SCHOOLZ, SO I'D BE SCREWED IF SOMETHING HAPPENED!!!

Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
Does anyone know how the housing lottery works? Does it matter when we send in our housing app, in terms of priority? (I know it matters for family housing, but I am wondering about single housing). Thanks.

Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
nyu law's website has to be the most convoluted thing ive ever seen. instructions on the hard copy say to make online deposits at --LinkRemoved-- by clicking on "welcome admitted students", but it turns out that link is actually nicely hidden on the "prospective students" page. the only way ive been able to navigate this site is by manually googling every page i want and then using find. i hope they fix the site soon

Why don't you give the admissions office a call?underdawg wrote:Did anyone who deposited on the 14th get anything from them yet? Is it time for paranoid freakout time yet? I HAD TO WITHDRAW FROM OTHER SCHOOLZ, SO I'D BE SCREWED IF SOMETHING HAPPENED!!!

Babs, I dont think it matters when you send it as long as you send it in before the deadline. Do you mind if I ask you where you plan on living? I think i'm going to do Mercer despite its slightly more expensive price tag. Virtually every current student that I spoke to advised me not to live in D'ag. Also, the D'ag dorm was relatively crappy in comparison to Mercer.

The finaid thing says my award was accepted and that they are just awaiting tax returns, so I guess I'm ok.NakaNaka wrote:Why don't you give the admissions office a call?underdawg wrote:Did anyone who deposited on the 14th get anything from them yet? Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
I just paid my deposit I think I'm going to try and live in Mercer as well, D'Ag just seemed unbearably tiny. Plus it will be nice to live a little bit away from the school. Except when you have to walk there in the snow.

Congrats, bridget! I so want to send my deposit in, but I'm still waiting on the Berkeley financial aid office to get back to me just in case they come up with something big.

Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
I posted instructions for changing it a few pages back on this thread. If you go into Preferences on NYUHome, there's an option to change your personal email address (though your official NetID will stay the same).

So I hit Delete (Backspace) and then "clicked" forward and paid the deposit twice...damn it.

oh i found it...
Direction to Set or Change Your Personal Address
Log into NYUHome.
Select the Preferences link in the upper right-hand menu bar of your NYUHome screen.
Under the section for YOUR EMAIL, find the option for "Personal address".
Click on the Edit link.
The personal email address preferences screen will be displayed with your current address choices. Before choosing a personal address, we encourage you to read the Personal Address policy for important information. Keep in mind that you can only change your personal address once a year, so be sure to choose one you like, and be careful to spell it correctly. (You will have a chance to confirm your choice.)
Once you've decided on a personal address, type it into the space provided and click the "Submit" button.
A pop-up window with a confirmation message will appear. If you're ready to commit to your new address, click the "Confirm" button. If not, click the "Cancel" button.
If your personal address choice is valid, you will receive a confirmation message. If not, you will be asked to go back and choose another address. Keep in mind the configuration policy when choosing your new address as certain restrictions apply.
Your new personal address will be available for use once you receive your confirmation message. After this, email can be sent to you at either your personal address (e.g., albert.q.einstein@nyu.edu) or your official NetID address (e.g., aqe123@nyu.edu). In either case, incoming email will be delivered to your one NYU email inbox.
