I got it. I don't think they're trying to tell us that we should do it -- they just want to make sure we are aware that there is a discount available for NYU students. The e-mail also contains a list of books that entering students might find helpful.

Dear Enrolling Law Student,

Some of you have asked how to best prepare for the first year of law
school. Because law school will be different from any academic endeavor
you have faced up to this point, it is probably a good idea to fully
understand the challenges you will face next fall. There are several
fine books on the market, and we have included a list of some
recommended titles at the end of this email, if you are interested. If

like to attend Law Preview -- a week-long program that provides an

Are you asking where Law Preview is held? They have sessions at locations all over the country. There will be a couple sessions at NYU. Check the website.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know if there are Wachovia banks/ATM's close to the school? Which banks would be good?

on the other hand, today was a relief from my worry that nyu wouldn't find me in india, as i got a copy of their laptop policy for the 17th time (oh and some other stuff) in the mail, just 2 weeks after it was sent.

I looked and it looks like Chase and Commerce will be the most convenient, especially if you are living in Mercer. Wachovia will be quite a hike...but do they seriously not have any ATMs inside Vanderbilt itself?

Chase atms are also in every Duane and Reade in NYC, which i think is the most popular store in NYC (i made that up, but it sounds plausible)

yeah, ive got a place in park slope. i'm excited about living in brooklyn and paying brooklyn rent.

Duane Reade is the NYC drugstore chain (for out of towners you can find CVS and Walgreen's, but there are only a few). There's a DR about every 4 or 5 blocks, I'd say it's the second most popular store after Starbucks
