We're actually thinking of selling ours. Its been integral here in Walnut Creek but it was always a hassle in the city. Warning to the uninitiated: San Francisco cops live to ticket. You have been warned.

Sent in my seat deposit two days ago. See you all in August.

I sold my car the minute I moved to SF. One of the best days of my life. Never looked back.

If you want to bring a car, you can. It's very nice to have when you want to get away from the city. Just don't expect to find street parking. Places with parking aren't terribly hard to find, but parking spots will usually cost about $250. If you don't plan on leaving the city much or straying too far from Bart lines, you really don't need a car though.

It seems like an amazing number of the people on this thread live in the Bay Area already.

For anyone who will be at the admitted student day on Saturday, I have changed my avatar to a self-tar featuring me and my lovely fiance. Feel free to come say hi to either me (80's era Madonna) or my fiance (Kobe Bryant). Don't be shy--we certainly aren't.

OMG, I never expect to find another Walnut Creeker on TLS! Too bad I can't make it to the ASD this Saturday to meet up with you and your fiance (stupid company trip). Maybe a meal in the burbs before school starts? :D

Anybody planning on living in the tower? I just sent in my deposit, and I hope I get a place...

I'm planning to live in the tower too. What scares me is I hear it use to be an old hotel. Thus, the walls are kinda thin. I hear it's also good to get a place 9th floor or higher to cut down on the street noise.

For me, I think I need to live near the school. During my undergrad, I lived like an hour away from school. I just ended up skipping all the time after doing a cost-benefit analysis in my head when I wake up (business major). Hopefully, this won't happen again soon!

I'm sending in my deposit.

I don't want to send money for the tower *just* yet.... If i send it in July, will I still be able to live in the tower?

From where? I heart the East Bay but I'm worried that the commute (however short) will cut into study time.

Hercules. I would get on Bart at El Cerrito.
One hour a day for commute won't be that bad...I hope :?

I had a great time. The start of the day was a little slow moving with a few boring (though probably necessary) seminars on topics such as financing your legal education. But the day took a turn for the positive during the faculty lectures, catered lunch and reception. Its obvious that one of the schools greatest strengths is the type of people it attracts. Faculty and staff are friendly and laid back. Students are definitely achievers without seeming robotic or withdrawn (characteristics I've observed at some schools). The new facilities, including the law library, are top notch. I had already made my decision to attend Hastings but the ASD made me feel even more confident about it.

Sent in my seat deposit a week ago, and sending in my deposit at the Tower soon. I hope I can still get an apt. - I need to, I don't know or have anyone in the area!

I really wish I could have made it to one of the ASDs, but hopefully I can make it out to the May 23rd one. I have yet to see the campus or speak to any reps directly about it.

I CANT WAIT! :D

Thanks for the response, PrettyPithy. Sounds like it went well. I regret not having gone. I did visit earlier that week and saw that the new library was finally finished. When I visited a year before, there was a lot of construction and it was a real source of frustration for the students. It's nice to know that we'll have full access to the new facilities and won't have to worry about construction noise.
