I heard September is the worst, as the humidity gets up there as well as the temperature; that will probably be more what I was thinking upper 90s should feel like.
There are some great Thai places around campus. Thai Kitchen and Madame Mam's are my favorite. But there are several more.

My absolute favorite restaurant on earth is Ruby's. It's a barbecue place at the corner of 29th and Guadalupe. (Don't confuse it with Rudy's, which is a Texas barbecue chain restaurant with a couple locations in Austin.) Ruby's chopped beef sandwiches are pretty much the greatest.

Well, I've only followed it close enough to know that we've been doing good. But I mean, that's to be expected & all. :)

Ah, well I don't really hate you. Rice played LSU in the 2nd game and we were winning 5-2 in the 9th, and you came back and won. grumble.

asian is not austin's forte, and madame mam's is terrible, but zen is good japanese and there is some great sushi downtown

This thread needs to be bumped so people know we are alive. Did y'all buy football tickets? I got the email/ FB messages but haven't looked into it too much.

I got tickets, too. A little expensive, I hope it turns out to be a good season.

It was the same price for tickets at my UG, so I was happy that it also can be used for basketball games and other sports! Plus the seats are reserved, which is a big bonus.

I'm curious how many folks here have been big fans of football or are becoming fans because of UT's traditionally strong teams. I thought guys like me would be the minority in law school. I'm really just surprised at how many girls have been gung ho about football tickets here and on the facebook group. I think they out number the guys, which is more than alright by me.

Well, I wasn't a fan until I went to UG & that's all anyone @ my school cared about. If I said I didn't care about football there, I would've been shanked. It grew on me after a couple of seasons though. I've heard that it's similar @ UT, so I went ahead & got the tickets in the interest of not getting shanked.

UGA made me a football fan. Luckily I'm going to a school that can give me something worth cheering for all season!

I pretty much hate UT athletics, because they always stomped on my UG whenever we played and weren't exactly gracious about it. That being said, I love football too much not to go to big-time games.

So in order to get bball tickets, you have to pay 70 dollars in order to have the option to wait in line for tickets? Am I reading this correctly? And then do you have to pay after you wait in line?

It doesn't sound like we have to pay again after we draw tickets. Just that the tickets can run out.

So, I think I read that no sections have Friday classes this fall--have you guys heard anything about this? If so, that would be pretty awesome.

That'd be pretty sweet. I never even had that during undergrad. Stupid engineering classes!

Maybe some of us will end up together :)

I believe it's on the UT law message board somewhere if anyone wants to double check. I've never had that before either, so I'm pretty happy about it.

Anyone else need to provide their parents' insurance company with proof of enrollment? I'm assuming this means we need to wait until the first full week of August? Someone who went to UT for undergrad know whereabouts on the UT site you got this proof for the insurance company in the past?
