Is everyone taking out the full amt in loans? Besides what you got in scholarship? I was trying to figure out a way to live on less than the student budget-- but I dont see it happening.

I see no way around the full amount... I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised by what's left come this time next year...

You can apply for stafford loans up until the end of the school year. You might want to take care of it before, you know, tuition is due.

Yeah, but if you need it to pay bills next semester, you should apply soon.normalien wrote:great! thankskn6542 wrote:Pretty much the same. You can apply up until the end of the school year.

Not moving up there until the 22nd or 23rd (into Hughes...)
I'm borrowing the full cost of tuition in loans But, frugal for three years, and then not having to be after, right? (hopefully)
We should plan a TLS first-day-of-classes-is-done cocktail hour

I just noticed your LSN update and saw that you were the latest to post here. It says AW so I thought you might have withdrew but I guess it's more of an AW snap

Yea I just updated it for the first time in awhile. It should say Attending for Cornell (obviously) but who knows. I might've forgotten to uncheck the W box.xdistak wrote:I just noticed your LSN update and saw that you were the latest to post here. Re: Cornell Law School 2011
I'm heading up August 19th, and would definitely be interested in a TLS cocktail party. I also talked to fin aid, and I'm not sure if this helps, but it seems if you apply for your gradplus etc loans before the end of June (and I think you can also get an extension) then if they don't come through by the time tuition is due, they will extend your tuition deadline without penalty....which is nice.

Also...
Does anyone have a position on getting/having a car? Are you getting or keeping your car? I'm kind of torn, but thinking that it would be nice to have one, but that could just be the fact that I have always had one before influencing my opinion. I would not take it to school, my apartment is close enough to campus to walk or take the bus. Thoughts?

I didn't have a car in UG, but I will have one next year. Mainly to get to and from Cornell from my hometown and for skiing/roadtrips. Ithaca is pretty much unreachable by air I've heard.

Syracuse and Binghamton are both less than an hour from Ithaca--I've flown into both from Houston for a pretty reasonable cost.

I got a flight from San Diego to Syracuse for under $150, though I'm thinking that was an anomaly.
