Wow, that's UVA's 2nd confirmed SCOTUS clerk for '09, which puts us behind Yale who has 3 so far.

the second UVA scotus clerk had an absurd gpa even as a 1L.

The 2005-2006 Franklin Prize was given to Katherine Ireland Twomey '08. The award recognizes the student with the highest grade point average at the end of his or her first year of law school. The recipient receives a cash prize and has her name engraved on a plaque in Hunton & Williams Hall.

She prob ended up graduating with some insane gpa.

more remarkable, she won:

Z Society Shannon Award Presented to the graduate with the highest overall academic record after five semesters.

Law School Alumni Association Best Note Award Presented to the member of the graduating class who wrote the best note in a current issue of a Law School publication.

Margaret G. Hyde Award Established in 1930 by Forrest J. Hyde, Jr., '15. Under the terms of the donation, a monetary award is made to an outstanding member of the graduating class whose scholarship, character, personality, activities in the affairs of the school, and promise of efficiency have, in the opinion of the law faculty, entitled him or her to special recognition.

Hey all hoos.

I just discovered Top Law Schools - what a resource! I'm deciding between Harvard and UVA ($$$). Anyone else make this decision?

I've been saying since game 6 of that kings/lakers series back in 2002 that the series was fixed so that the lakers would win . . . and now it's coming out that I was right!

Vindication!

I do somewhat believe the accusations because a Laker 3-peat would make much more money than a Nets/Kings final for the NBA. However, we can't assume that anything Donaghey says while waiting for a jail sentence is credible.

Hey,

I'm also a class of 2011 UVA law student but I've never actually visited the campus (I had undergrad exams during the second orientation and I was too dumb to go to the first one). I was wondering if someone who did attend the orientation could answer a couple questions for me:

1) Does pretty much everyone live in Ivy Gardens?

2) How do people find roommates if they don't know anyone in the state of virginia? Was this something I should have done at orientation?

Thanks alot. Have a great summer.

Mike

Well, out of all 40 of us, there's actually not very many living in Ivy Gardens. If you're looking for a place, you can tell us what specifics you're looking for in an apartment and we can give you a pretty good idea of what places you might be interested in. As for roommates, you can use the Admitted Students forum on the UVA Law site or post in the UVa Law '11 Facebook group and there's a decent chance you'll get a response.

Gladiator is absolutely right, when I posted on there, a lot of people e-mailed me. Also, there are a few people on there still looking for roommates, so maybe you'd be compatible with one of them. A lot of us are living the Woodlands (like me!), Avemore, or Graduate Center. Or individual townhomes. The nice thing is that Charlottesville has a lot of affordable options :)

While all of the above is certainly true, probably half the class will be living at Ivy despite it's status as the closest thing to a shithole in C'Ville. It is serviceable though, and convenient.

In spite of that, I won't be living there either.

as you probably know, ivy's location is the main selling point. check out the other places for better quality if you don't mind driving.

That game killed me. It's the only game that I can still picture.

It's the Italian kid (Luigi? Guido?) from the Disney-Pixar movie Cars. Maybe he's a mascot for Euro2008?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
