so Bun-B and I were talking UVA football, and we were curious - how do students get tickets?

i will give my left testicle to watch USC kick in some Cavalier teeth on August 30th (sorry, UVA, i'll be cheering for you in every other game, but not this one!)

I heard for undergrad they just scanned your Student IDs or something similar, although that was four years ago. I'm curious about this too.

There's a lot of official student seats plus the hill which doesn't really have an official capacity so I'm pretty sure they could handle a good deal of students.

I'm pretty psyched for football as well, having never been to a state school or college football game. Hoyas will still be my hoops team though. I just can't root fro ACC basketball.

Looks like it's first-come first serve. I'm guessing the sooner you get in, the more likely to get actual seats (in the orange section at the end).

Can't wait until two years from now when I get to watch the Hokies stomp the Cavs at Scott Stadium. I'm wondering how the atmosphere will compare from Lane Stadium, which is often cited as one of the most difficult places to play, to Scott Stadium which is known more for wine and cheese.

I've been pretty spoiled after going to so many games/tailgating at the Swamp. I'm not setting my hopes too high for the UVA football experience.

I just stumbled upon this forum while searching for a better UVA 2011 law forum than the official admit one and Facebook. From the 168 pages of previous posts looks like I found it. I was just wondering when people are heading down to C'ville to move-in (I'm sure somewhere in those 168 pages it has been discussed, but I really don't feel like clicking 168 times...). Are you guys starting the year off right with a few weeks of festivities before the show or are most people heading down right before orientation?

Just want to know when the party's starting.

I know it won't be starting the first football game of the season... USC... ouch...

Which brings me to something else. What qualifies as tailgating always has sucked big time at UVA--my one disappointment of my undergraduate years (ha, to even mention UVA football and the Swamp in the same forum is an insult to football). I'm hoping our class can up the ante when it comes to pre-game festivities.

I was just wondering when people are heading down to C'ville to move-in (I'm sure somewhere in those 168 pages it has been discussed, but I really don't feel like clicking 168 times...). Are you guys starting the year off right with a few weeks of festivities before the show or are most people heading down right before orientation?

Just want to know when the party's starting.

I'm moving down in less than 2 weeks!!! A lot of people will have moved in by early August, so we should have a couple of weeks of non-stop get-to-know-you partying. I know my apartment complex will be hosting some of these thanks to the small concentration of awesome TLSers.

It's actually a cruise. It leaves out of Italy and I'm heading to Sicily, Greece, Croatia, Turkey, and Malta (yes I know it's random). Before the cruise, I'll have a couple days in Rome and then on the back end another few days in Rome. I'm gonna try to use the back end to go down to Naples and Pompei.
