Some of my schools kept me waiting 'til really late, too, and at that point, I was just like "you know what, at this point, I can't seriously consider this place." it's just extra stress. :P

looking forward to study groups! I never had ANY in undergrad. it will be a nice change, I think.

I loved UVA so much, I just withdrew my apps elsewhere. The nice thing about that is I can say I wasn't rejected by anyone! :D

Odds are you'll be in a section with a couple of us.

Also, not to be a jackass, but you're really struggling with self-confidence aren't you? Just wondering, because this normally isn't the case for law students, especially those who got accepted to one of the best law schools in the world. Most of us are on cloud 9 and super proud and confident in ourselves.

And for the record, if you were smart enough to get into UVA, you're plenty smart enough to succeed, just gotta do the work! So cheer up!

If you need a good talk, I'll just be a few buildings away! :D I've been struggling with self-confidence, too. Not so much about schoolwork, more on a social level. I've gotten a lot better this past year though and I'd be happy to give advice!

Hmmm. Alcohol and low self-confidence = terrible decisions

i'm sorry :( i'm not sure what their thinking is.
Their thinking is I sent in both deposits and have 50/25 numbers :P

It never hurt to ask though. Letter-writing has got me pretty far up until now!

Looking at the NALP directory of law schools and seeing all that data should make us all feel better about what our GPAs are going to be :) Annnnd it is nice to know that UVA doesn't rank its students, and employers will only know if you were in the top 25% or top 50%.

NALP: http://www.nalplawschoolsonline.org/

And for what it's worth, I am 100% committed to UVA too! I mean I wasn't happy about it for a little while (make Vandy suburban like UVA and you've got my dream school - which doesn't exist!) but now, I absolutely cannot wait to go to what a lot of people I've talked to call "hands down, the best law school in the country." (Haha take that Yale! But I get where they're coming from... with this great an education, anywhere else can only be marginally better, annnnd I can't imagine any better atmosphere at any of the T-14)

There is no law school in the country that combines the social atmosphere of UVA with the kickass job prospects. We are very lucky and should be envied. I was admitted to several top 7 urban schools, one with money, and even if uva didn't offer me anything I would have still sent in my deposit due to the combination described above. We should really just throw a bunch of parties at the Woodlands in August.

titcr...

i was drawn to uva mainly cuz of the alum responses i've encountered. no school had as many "rabid" alums as this school, a testament of the student quality and overall experience.

Yeah it's almost as if it's a cult following. That right there tells me I made the right decision. I could go to a more impersonal atmosphere in the city and have a more intense law school experience or I can go to a laid back school in the country and just chill and still end up in the same office. No-brainer. I just want August to get here already! We should have a tls softball/drinking team. Anyone on deck needs to chug!

No, tkm and I just live in the same complex, so we should have a pool party/bbq kinda thing. And then some extended drinking at one of our places!

Does "extended drinking" entail get hammered and then play strip (insert favorite strip game here)?

well it definitely includes getting hammered and playing drinking games. Perhaps strip something, but only if I get to wear a ton of socks!

Where are you living and when do you move in? I should know this about all of you by now, but I have a bad memory.
