You mean you were catching up with WUSTL. They're wailin' on ya now.
Ugh, I know.
My initial thought is "Come on TLSers, are you such prestige whores that a couple spots in ranking are that big a deal?" But then I realize that most probably don't want to work in the northern midwest where most of Minnesota's placement happens, so it totally makes sense.

Sure. But do most want to work in the central midwest, where most of WUSTL's placement happens?

Apparently I do. But I could be convinced otherwise.

WashU is the best place I've gotten in. UIUC and W&L were also options. But, with much less scholarship from them, and considering I have no idea where I want to work (midwest seems quite fine to me), I couldn't turn down the WUSTL full ride.

Now, if Vandy or Cornell come calling, we will have to see.

Going to Loyola.

Great idea and thanks for the extra work Sock, I'm sure this will help us in some way or another.

I think that most would rather be there than in Minnesota/Wisconsin. The weather is certainly a burden for many people. Minnesota grads do well, but they stay locally at much higher levels than WUSTL grads. Minnesota seems to do better in the northern midwest, but WUSTL looks like it has better placement numbers elsewhere in the country. While they are both regional schools, WUSTL seems just a small step closer than Minnesota is to being a national school rather than a regional one.

I have finished up my Harvard Financial Aid and Housing applications, so I may as well make it official on here.

I'm surprised more people haven't committed to schools like Harvard and Yale.

Just for you, Lishi, I'm committing to both Harvard and Yale. Hell, Stanford too, cuz why not. Put me on the lists.

Edit: Oh wait you have to actually apply/get accepted to commit? Damn.

Hey, we're on it already. Just last week aguyingeorgia tried to commit to Yale, but they gave him some runaround about how he wasn't "admitted" yet, whatever that means. I'm sure they'll straighten it out.

I'm still in pain over that.

Apparently you have to receive an offer of admission before you can send in your deposit, agree to attend, etc.

Talk about awkward.
