Negotiating up from Butler (Columbia)?

Post by Widdle_Dumpling » Fri Mar 18, 2016 11:06 am

Hi all,

Does anyone on here have experience negotiating up from a Butler at Columbia (that's a half-tuition scholarship)--it feels weird to ask for more, but I got awarded a full ride at NYU, and my understanding is that they're peer schools. There's a really, really cool program at Columbia that I'm getting recruited for, but for me it doesn't necessarily make financial sense to take the Butler at Columbia over the Vandy at NYU. So, does anyone know if it's possible to negotiate up from a Butler?

I see no harm in asking.
