Parent- Financing Law School? - Loans above COA possible?

Any advice for the above topics? I'm specifically interested in hearing from anyone familiar with getting loans above the school's published COA. Also, any tips for getting settled into law school as married/parent. Mostly worried about making the adjustment, not the duration. For example: what to show to get approved for a lease in the new city? Has anyone else on TLS done this as a non-traditional student?

Any experience/advie to share here would be great!

I have heard of people getting a modest increase in their loan budget for expenses like childcare. You go through the school financial aid office after your initial fin. aid package comes through. Just being married isn't going to get you anything extra (presumably a spouse is expected to contribute to the household).

In a lot of places, you can show your loan letter to a landlord as proof of income. Especially areas where a lot of students live.

Thanks. I'm just anticipating it being hard to get approved for a lease because I certainly won't have a part-time job before moving there. I do know that 1l's can work 15-20 hrs/week, so that should help cover expenses. Schools' COA's are so unrealistic for a non-trad who has three times the grocery bills, health ins., and additional bedrooms. But I know I'm not the first one to try to figure out a way to make it happen.
