Schools that lend internally?

Does anyone know where I can find a list of schools that lend internally? Or the best way to find this information? Most schools don't explicitly say that they don't on their websites, but I'm assuming very few do...

Pretty sure you're looking at only Harvard and Yale here. I'm considered an international student and looked everywhere for this info--no other school in the T-20 (didn't look past that except for BU and BC and they also did not) offer insitutional loans. Stanford's website doesn't confirm or deny that they provide student loans internally, so you'd have to check with them.

You're either getting loans from the federal government or from a private lender if you have a US co-signer.

Ah, that's unfortunate. I'm an international too, without a potential co-signor. Thanks for the info.

BC does. I have a real low interest subdivide loan from them.

No prob--looks like from the post above mine that BC also does.

I've gone through the whole cycle being in your exact position. For an international that needs money to attend and doesn't have a co-signer, I'd say you should shoot for:
1. HY and get institutional loans
2. Super High LSAT score & awesome GPA to potentially get massive scholarship offers from the T-14
3. NU early decision which comes with $150k ($50k/year) scholarship (I went with this over trying for 1 and 2 just because I wanted to have a sure thing and I have personal reasons for wanting to be in Chicago)
4. GW early decision which comes with full-tuition scholarship
5. BU early decision which comes with full-tuition scholarship

I personally would still be weary about 4 or 5 as cost of living isn't covered by these scholarships and that can really add up. Hell, I'm slightly worried about NU just because I'm still on the hook for around $80k between cost of living, health insurance, & portion of tuition that the $50k/year doesn't cover.

Oh my God. Option three would be amazing. If I weren't planning on going this cycle... ugh.
