Cornell Negotiation

Postby iMisto » Thu Jan 24, 2013 9:26 am

In with 167/3.7 (basically median - though, maybe their numbers will drop again? ) .

BU is offering 20k/yr, but I'm dead-set on Cornell. They haven't sent me any scholly info yet, but I'm assuming it's probably $0. I'd like to get SOMETHING, just to take the edge off of the sticker price.

Should I write a, "Please Cornell, you're my dreamydream school, and I'd love to go... but BU is offering 20k/yr. Is there any way you can give me 10k/yr???? Thx, luv u, byyyye." ?

Also, I do come from a poor, single-parent household, so my pleading isn't completely disingenuous. Do I write sooner than later, or after I've submitted FAFSA/NeedAccess?

Thank you!

I'd say after need access so you can tell the whole story (within than one page of course). I found negotiation with the office pretty smooth
