Is it time for scholarship negotiation?

Post by SUCO » Thu Dec 22, 2011 10:30 pm

A few weeks ago I got a 25k/year scholarship to Villanova and today I got a 20k non-renewable scholarship to UCONN. I have also been accepted to Hofstra which I am pretty confident will also offer me a scholarship, and I have not heard back from Temple but they are the only other school I applied to that I may also get money from. Out of these four schools Villanova and UCONN would be my top two choices, but UCONN would cost 31k more to attend over the three years. So my question is should I email UCONN about my interest and try to get my scholarship upped or should I wait on Hofstra and Temple a bit?

I would say wait as you will have better leverage with multiple scholarship offers and maybe they are even bigger than the ones you got now, which will help in negotiations.
