If you are not mixed, correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't qualify as Hispanic, do you?
No, I'm not Japanese. A long long time ago my great grandparent's grandparents (or something like that, not really sure) left Japan for Peru, so I have no ties to Japanese culture. I consider myself Peruvian and Hispanic.
Sounds like you got material for a killer PS or DS. It's got to be a pain in the ass every-time you identify as Peruvian someone has to remind you that you look Japanese and follow up with questions as if you might be mistaken about your own identity.

I'm a Cuban American with a Hail Mary out to Harvard, 171/3.43. Does anyone know the amount of Hispanics who get over a 170 on the LSAT each year?

Wow!!!!! Congrats that is so awesome.

On another note I guess I know why Cubans are not considered Under Represented in the law school admissions process as I am a Cuban American as well. Oh well what a bunch of overachievers!!! :D

Do you think having a Mexican heart enables you to check the Hispanic box? Let's hope the state bar thinks so when it comes time for C&F.

sometimes this make me a little upset when I see that minorities are so dominated in this country that student use thier race to introduce themselves for admission in top schools. I wonder when jewish population first crowded manhattan, did they face same race issue as everybody face today? or it is just the time especially when US has non-white president. No matter where you go race comes first.

Okay, I'm sorry, but I have to ask: your ancestors moved from Japan to Peru about 150 years ago, you have 64 Japanese great-great-great grandparents, and they abandoned their Japanese culture?

I'm sure it was more of an evolution. Ethnically Japanese, culturally Peruvian. Makes sense to me.

There are two possible ways for that to happen: 1) they imported brides from Japan, and 2) they carefully and strictly bred among themselves in the small Japanese Peruvian community. Neither one is culturally Peruvian.
