I was wondering the same thing. I barley made the feb 2 deadline and I already feel like calling and checking up on my status (talk about impatient)..if it is as competitive to get in as they say it is, I dont understand why they would extend the deadline..maybe they had bunch of requests or something. Eitha ways Im not complaining since I applied on jan 29 lol

There is another deadline other than the February 2nd and the early decision deadline in November?

Still waiting.. 2 months.
quick question>... does participating in CLEO help you get an admissions to a "member" school you were rejected at, and also does it help you get off the waitlist(if you show the school you are waitlisted in your acceptance into CLEO)

I sent my application in on December 30, 2008. Do you mind if i ask what were your stats when you applied? Also I heard they have had over 900 applicants and they extended the deadline which does not make any sense to me. All I hope is i get something in the mail that says hey your IN. Ok this is turning out to be pathetic.

I filed my application back on December 2nd. I see there are some people who filed their application after I did and they're getting responses. I don't get it. Is it supposed to be based on a rolling admissions basis? What's really interesting was I was originally told (from CLEO) that they will be letting me know by Jan 31st their decision (with the early applicants). Now, I was told recently that I won't know anything until April!!!!!
Over 900 applications received? Wow. And they extended the deadline? It definitely doesn't make sense! Can someone give any clarity as to what's going on at CLEO?

It's just a far more complicated process than we're giving them credit for. (I think) they have to be in contact with the Member/Supporting/Sustaining Institutions so that students can be nominated. So they really have to analyze who would benefit the most and tie it into which schools have offered admission or are going to offer admission... WE KNOW how busy some admissions committees are, so imagine how quickly or not they're cooperating with CLEO... multiply that by the supposed 900 applications.

I just received an acceptance letter today but it doesnt say which location I have been assigned to. Does anybody know how they do the location assignment, is it by how close you are to each location? I live in northern Va, so I am assuming they will assign me to Pitt if thats the case, anyways good luck to everyone else!!

How do you get a school to nominate you if you have already sent your CLEO app?
Does it have to be one of the 8 schools you listed? What if you don't remember what they all are?

You'll receive assignment to a school once you send in your deposit. At least that was the case for me. They gave me the Univ of Pitt and I'm in NYC but I have no idea if they assign you based on where you live.

I don't think CLEO can help you get into a school you were rejected. A rejection is pretty definite unless the school has an appeal process. If you are waitlisted you should mention CLEO in a LOCI and contact the admission's office by phone or email to update them. It is my understanding that CLEO's placement assistance gives first priority to those students who have yet to be accepted to any school. You should contact CLEO and get more info on your particular situation.
