Anyone else not mention why they're interested in law school in their PS?

I like barely mentioned it in the last line. 2 for 2 so far, since I guess it’s not a big deal.mmart207 wrote:Anyone else not mention why they're interested in law school in their PS?
I've been debating mentioning it briefly at the end as well, but I feel like it just doesn't tie into what the rest of the statement covers.principalagent wrote:I like barely mentioned it in the last line. 2 for 2 so far, since I guess it’s not a big deal.mmart207 wrote:Anyone else not mention why they're interested in law school in their PS?
I feel like it has to be in there. Some how, so people know law school is actually what you want to do.mmart207 wrote:I've been debating mentioning it briefly at the end as well, but I feel like it just doesn't tie into what the rest of the statement covers.principalagent wrote:I like barely mentioned it in the last line. 2 for 2 so far, since I guess it’s not a big deal.mmart207 wrote:Anyone else not mention why they're interested in law school in their PS?
I feel like it would just disrupt the flow of the personal statement since I was mainly telling a story.Mr_Chukes wrote:I feel like it has to be in there. Keep it a two pages. Most schools only want to. Plus it's better to have it concise and to the point. They read thousands of these.mmart207 wrote:How long is everyones' PS? Mine is just a bit under 2 pages. A lot of schools say 2-3 pages for their PS, do you think a little under 2 pages would hurt?
I'm saying since mine is just a little under 2 pages, should I just keep it at that length? Or add a bit more to make 2 pages?Mr_Chukes wrote:Keep it a two pages. Most schools only want to. Keep it that length unless you find something significant to add. Don't just throw in random fluff. Every sentence needs to be calculated.mmart207 wrote:I'm saying since mine is just a little under 2 pages, should I just keep it at that length? Thank you! I ask because since most schools ask for 2-3 pages I didn't want them to think I'm incapable of reading instructions since mine would be a bit less lol. How do you like your first year so far?Mr_Chukes wrote:Keep it that length unless you find something significant to add. Don't just throw in random fluff. So far so good. A lot of work but I have a lot of great friends.mmart207 wrote:Thank you! Also not writing a separate Diversity statement, my PS covers a lot of what a DS would say and I think it's more effective for me to have one strong essay rather than two weaker ones.mmart207 wrote:Anyone not planning on writing a diversity statement? I'm still very undecided.
I'm writing one in case I feel the need to submit to schools that I can't write a good why x for. On the fence about submitting both (why x and DS) to target schools.jjdude14 wrote:Also not writing a separate Diversity statement, my PS covers a lot of what a DS would say and I think it's more effective for me to have one strong essay rather than two weaker ones.mmart207 wrote:Anyone not planning on writing a diversity statement? Is there a stigma against submitting a why x and DS? This was my plan for target/reach schools..chewinggum wrote:I'm writing one in case I feel the need to submit to schools that I can't write a good why x for. I'm struggling with my PS, though.
Well my top choice asks the C&F question in a way that I have to disclose (speeding ticket).hotdog96 wrote:Is there a stigma against submitting a why x and DS? I wrote two. Three songs and three books. I don't think it'll hurt to only submit one. You only want to present your best work.jimmyplayer601 wrote:For people who wrote the optional essays for Stanford did you choose to write two different topics or just one. I wrote a good one for the topic about 3 songs but I'm unsure if I should write another because I don't think it'll be as good.
Where does copyright law fall into?principalagent wrote:new poll!
I’d just say think of where you would want to practice it, whether in a big firm or in house, maybe?saffles wrote:Where does copyright law fall into?principalagent wrote:new poll!
