I feel like the Class of 2021 is far behind the Class of 2020 across all the threads. But the bulk of apps open tomorrow and another administration of the LSAT IS on the way. I'm sure the lituation is coming soonPrezRand wrote:Hopefully this thread gets more life in sept and oct

Re: URM 2017-2018 Cycle Thread
Oh yeah, apps open tomorrow! So focused on the LSAT that I forgot haha all I've done so far is keep notes of good PS ideas as they come to me and get my letters of recommendation/transcript requests in. Still saving up money for my CAS fee though ugh!
As soon as the LSAT is over with I'll shift focus to my applications so I can get them in 2 days after scores come out (going to an LSAC forum the day right after and hoping for some fee waivers!). Are most of you taking September too?
My top choices are NYU and Columbia with as much scholarship money as possible! PTs are at 171-174, hoping for at least a 172

Does anyone know how strict admissions is in regards to 25th/Median/75th? To be more specific if the median of a school is a 3.54 and you have a 3.5 would they look at you as being at the median even though you are off by .04%. Obviously we can't know for certain but I was wondering if anyone had any idea.

Honestly, as a URM if you're already at the median GPA or slightly below (.04) like you, and you have an LSAT score that is around the median as well, you're most likely going to get in. Just write a strong PS.stjeff00 wrote:Does anyone know how strict admissions is in regards to 25th/Median/75th? Well I meant it in regards to the 25th percentile more than anything actually lol, but I still appreciate your input.mmart207 wrote:Honestly, as a URM if you're already at the median GPA or slightly below (.04) like you, and you have an LSAT score that is around the median as well, you're most likely going to get in. How much does it hurt to wait until January to apply?

Re: URM 2017-2018 Cycle Thread
The general consensus I've heard from consultants is that it's ideal to get it in before thanksgiving but never worth submitting a subpar app just to get it in early. So definitely spend as long as it takes to get your apps just right and then apply as soon after that as you can. Have heard even a single point or two on the LSAT can make waiting worth whilejgloster wrote:How much does it hurt to wait until January to apply?

This. However, I'd add that if you end up planning to retake the LSAT in December, I would submit all of your applications that way when you get your retake score back they will be sent to the schools and you don't have to worry about anything else. They won't look at your app until they get the retake score once they notice you're enrolled for the December test.RSolano wrote:The general consensus I've heard from consultants is that it's ideal to get it in before thanksgiving but never worth submitting a subpar app just to get it in early. For the solicited, did you just send an email to the admissions email with your lsac number? Or did you include stats?soca_dancer wrote:Successfully solicited fee waivers

I believe so but your app won't be complete or reviewed until your score is in.jgloster wrote:Can you apply without having taken the LSAT yet?

Stanford and Berk were the only schools that didn't automatically wave through the LSAC waiver last year. They have their own process on their websites.calmike wrote:Has anyone applied yet?

Anyone applying to NU? I scheduled my interview for October and I'm so nervous.
