Hey guys,

A-Canadian, 3.84 GPA, I'm taking the December 2016 LSAT and was just wondering whether this would put me at a disadvantage at HYS due to rolling admissions. I'm hoping to apply for this cycle.

Happy to hear your thoughts!

It would. Don't take the LSAT until you're ready though.

It wouldn't. A strong resume is a strong resume. To the extent it does, it's minimal. A 165 won't get you in if you apply in September and a 180 won't keep you out if you apply in February.

KMart is mostly correct. A February score places you at a greater disadvantage as classes are close to full. Other candidates similar to you have already filled seats, so the school has to really want you. Don't be hell-bent on applying this year if you're not scoring in the range required for the school you want. Get the score you need then apply, even if it costs you a year.

He asked if there would be a disadvantage. A 165 with his GPA would eventually get him in if he applied in September. It may not if he applied late December/January.

No. A 165/3.84 would not get them into HYS at all no matter when they apply... Unless they are a URM of course

I mean there's a disadvantage in the strictest sense of the term but it's going to be very minimal.

Thanks for the feedback, currently pt'-ing at 166/167, hoping to be at 171+ when I write in December, or else i'd do it in September.

Writing in December would not put you at a disadvantage at HYS. Don't write until you're PT'ing around your target score. If that means pushing back your write a couple months than do it.

Are fee waivers still possible if you are taking the December LSAT?
