yea had mine earlier this month. Was relaxed/conversational, and they asked me many of the basics: resume questions, why law, why now, general q's about job experiences, etc.lawschool2017712 wrote:Has anyone else finished their JS1 yet?

Considering this is a URM page, I would think everyone on here is mindful of slights and microaggressions. there's plenty of reasons why people hate this terminology and find it sexist. It's a simple request, get off your high horse.Hi-So - ArshavinFan wrote:Here we go.bunney_j wrote:Ugh please please please don't refer to women as females. My number one pet peeve (sorry can't help it. it's like hearing nails on a chalkboard to me)PrezRand wrote:Especially the females. When they hear "Oh you are going to law school? I told a few classmates and regular shoppers at work how I got into USC for Law and they all jerked their heads and their eyes opened wide in shock. I didn't think people thought it was such a big deal what school you go to. Many people have started looking at me more favorably. So much fake love.
Please let's leave this kind of talk to lipstickalley or theColi.
And' lets keep this forum strictly law school related????
Thanks.

Woah...so I can't discuss a podcast that targets a minority audience either? LOL, peace. That's pretty lame.bunney_j wrote:Considering this is a URM page, I would think everyone on here is mindful of slights and microaggressions. there's plenty of reasons why people hate this terminology and find it sexist. What if everyone just shuts up and keeps this thread positive?! Lol. This is a thread to support and commend fellow URMs through their LS journey! There's enough negativity on the news; we don't need negativity ITT as well.

UMich going above and beyond to put me in touch with folks who plan on working where I wanna work, who are in OUTLaws, and who are in LALS. Not gonna lie, I am so into how much they want their admitted students to feel like they'll have a community before we even get there.

The people are genuinely nice, the admissions officer remembered me. I talked to a Student Ambassador for about an hour. One of the sections bought coffee and donuts for everyone in the section. Seemed like a very friendly environment. People looked happy and I heard a lot of people greeting each other. Also Matt told me about how USC is in the LA market how it is less competitive for USC students because these firms already have the school in mind. I'm 98℅ USC now lol.dietcoke1 wrote:did you see anything that stood out ?Mr_Chukes wrote:This week lol. Should have hit me up for USC and UCLA. Did you ask them to put you in touch or did they know all this beforehand and reach out to you? J/w because I should do that. Curious about their LALSA.S.Picquery wrote:UMich going above and beyond to put me in touch with folks who plan on working where I wanna work, who are in OUTLaws, and who are in LALS. They reached out and asked based on my diversity essay/PS, according to their email. Also, they're having a phonathon/emailathon for 2 days next month and are trying to have a current student reach out to as many admits as possible. If they don't "guess" what student groups you'd like to be put in touch with, they do ask.texcellence wrote:Did you ask them to put you in touch or did they know all this beforehand and reach out to you? I also spoke with Matt when I was there. Everyone there was really nice and from time to time I see a USC law student on the Metro when I take it to work and they all say great things about USC. (they tend to have bright red USC Gould key chains in case anyone wondered). seems like a great placeMr_Chukes wrote:The people are genuinely nice, the admissions officer remembered me.
