Native American Students Should be Applying to Columbia

Post by thrillhouse » Tue Apr 12, 2016 6:05 pm

For those taking the June LSAT or otherwise applying for next cycle, now is a good time to begin preparing your personal statement, diversity statement, and resume ready to submit as soon as applications are accepted.

Columbia has a thriving and active Native American Law Students Association and is always looking for applicants to continue the momentum this group has built. This year alone Columbia had a student win best oralist at the National Native American Law Students Association (NNALSA) Moot Court Competition, had students place 2nd and 3rd in the NNALSA writing competition, and had three students elected to the NNALSA Board of Directors. All of that was in addition to spending Spring Break on several different pro bono legal services trips to different parts of Indian Country and providing other direct legal services to tribes through one of Columbia's Indian law clinical courses.

If you have questions about Columbia's NALSA group, the application process, or just want to know about how your application might be viewed, please PM. I'm happy to help.

Wish you would've posted this before. We had a Native American on here ED U CHI a cycle ago. He unfortunately left this board though. Messy situation

Dude keep lounge in-jokes out of the on-topics.

I don't get your point? According to the 509 reports Chicago never has more than 1 Indian on campus and usually has none. What does that have to do with a school like Columbia with an active community and active outreach?
Nothing. Clyde Frog was referencing some lounge drama. Nothing to worry about.
