I just reverted it. Hopefully it looks right again. As a reminder, download a copy of the sheet if you want to analyze the data.jnwa wrote:just looked..someone sorted the sheet Harvard column alphabetically and it threw off everything else. P.S. Also, get better at Excel, because sorting a sheet shouldn't mess you up so badly lol.

When did you apply..seems like a lot of pending decisions.Navrim wrote:In at Duke, Michigan, and Georgetown. WL at Penn and Columbia and no JS1 or interview at Cornell. 90k at Michigan.
What I thought were really competitive URM stats.
One of the more disappointing cycles you guys have seen?
Pending at Chicago, Stanford, Yale, UVA, Cornell, and Harvard.

Hi guys I was waitlisted at Harvard today. Feeling optimistic! Stats 3.71 and LSAT 162. Any advice on how to continue expressing my interest in the school , or anything I can do to get them to let me in haha. Thanks !

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
I’ve been a huge lurker and my cycle is pretty much over, so I figured I would share.
In: Stanford, Harvard, Chicago, Columbia, NYU, Penn, Berkeley, Michigan, Duke, Cornell, Georgetown, WashU
Waiting on: Yale
No rejections yet! My Yale app was very poorly thrown together the last day because I got into Stanford mid-February and decided it was worth it, so I’m expecting a no, but I really could not have asked for a better cycle. I’m so happy and I wish everyone waiting the best of luck!!

Well, I reset it again. Not sure what's going on, but please, if you want to sort the sheet, download your own copy first...it's under file.

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
Im gonna post my results now even though I'm still waiting on Y/S although I am think about just enrolling at H, I don't know if the wait is worth it. Especially considering I prefer H over S and it would be a close debate between Y and H for me.
I think My cycle really shows how unpredictable URM cycles can be, and how misconstrued the confidence of the advice people give on TLS is about where people will get in and with how much money.
stats 3.75 GPA 170 LSAT
Applied:
Yale (still waiting)
Stanford (still Waiting)
Harvard (IN) waiting on financial aid(expecting close to full aid, because I also qualified for LSAC's need based waiver)
Chicago (waitlisted)
Columbia (Waitlisted)
NYU (still Waiting)
UVA: (Waitlisted)
Duke: (IN) 67,000
Michigan: Rejected! so weird...
Cornell: (IN) Scholarship: 150,000
Georgetown: (IN) Scholarship: 0/put on scholarship waitlist...
UNC Chapel Hill: (IN) Scholarship: 80% of tuition, was in the running for their full tuition but didn't get it.
I applied to everywhere in early November except for Stanford and Chicago, which I applied to in early Janurary.

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
^^ Congrats on Harvard and I would expect you to get Stanford too. On it's face I can see why you'd be surprised by your results, but here's how I look at it.
I think Columbia is getting more into the YP game than ever before. I think they couldn't give you a Hamilton so they WL'd you. If you made any fuss, I'm sure you'd get in.
Chicago is surprising for sure. Did you interview?
If NYU doesn't come through something's up.
UVA and Michigan are serial Yield Protectors. They shouldn't get a second thought.
A little surprised about Georgetown not giving you money, but who really knows what those folks are thinking.

Thanks to both of you!fliptrip wrote:^^ Congrats on Harvard and I would expect you to get Stanford too.

And yes I did interview at Chicago, I think the reason I wasn't admitted was probably in part due to applying in January.
And I wouldn't really say I was surprised, except for Michigan that is, it's just interesting that it played out a lot more like my school advisor said then what some posters on tls would have you believe.
My approach was, I will hope to get in were my numbers actually deserve, and if I get any boost than that is extra on the top. So I'm real happy with H. I also have a somewhat unique app even without urm.
I think that law schools look at apps in a far more complete sense and with the mindset of who they have already accepted than the common all that matters is the numbers mindset on tls.
I think that is pretty clear when you look at the Harvard applicants page; for the last few days there are numerous people above both or one of the 75ths getting waitlisted. And someone in the Chicago applicant thread had a 4.0/180 and didn't get a ruby.

Re: URM 2015-2016 Cycle Thread
My own naivety I guess. I thought passing a certain GPA/LSAT threshold meant that I would be golden....and I'm far from it atm. At the back of my mind I knew how my cycle would turn out tho, so it is what it is.fliptrip wrote:Say more about why, if you don't mind.
