Hello all,
Was hoping to get insight on whether someone like myself could have a shot at UV, Boalt, Usc, Ucla or Boston University. Softs being decent but I'm sure standard wouldn't say large advantage.

I don't have much experience with these things, so I can't help with your chances. But have you tried to get the need-based waiver from LSAC? If you get it, it'll help alleviate the financial burden of applying to multiple schools.

California schools are almost definitely out, BU is very much in, and no one ever knows what UVA is up to.

If this were me, I'd ED to UVA.

Thanks for the feedback I thought MA and first Gen status in college might help the 167 be in contention in California but it seems my GPA is killing me. Appears caif is a tough area in terms of Gpas

your gap hurts you across the board

Oh no, your GPA is going to hurt you everywhere, but CA schools are notorious for preferring high GPA/low LSAT combos above high LSAT/low GPA combos.

First of all thanks for the feedback. Bye bye T20, hmm then pretty much everything else will be regional I'm assuming. For California I guess its pepp, USD, or Santa Clara. Out of those what do you guys recommend? What about 20-30 or at that point do you just focus on 100% desired region. I will try UVA and pray also :)

UCDavis and UCIrvine would be better options than Pepperdine, USD or Santa Clara.

I had basically the same stats as you.

In at 19 down with good money, generally.

I think you should still apply to USC/UCLA... my friend had our numbers last cycle and got USC with 90k...

I agree that you should apply to UC-I/D

You would probably get really good offers from UMN/WUSTL so they are definitely worth applying to for the sake of negotiation leverage

try to get app fee waivers from as many schools as you can.

let them know your LSAT + URM status and at least some will give you an app fee waiver.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if you got a ton of money from UMN or WUSTL. Nova had pretty close numbers to you and got a full ride (yes?)

I would be surprised to see USC pony up for <3.0, but I've seen it happen.

Almost full. Paying less than 10k/yr @UMN. Woulda been paying about the same @WUSTL.

of course, that was 2 cycles ago. Me and OP woulda almost certainly gotten WUSTL full rides last cycle.

Yep. Tuition has gone up some the last few years at UMN but you should still get good money there. Also seconding the fact that people with those numbers got full rides at WUSTL last cycle. I'm non URM and I got decent money at UMN last cycle with similar numbers.

Nice, okay well the picture is becoming a bit clearer. WUSTL, UC D/I, and the hail Mary to USC and UCLA I'll add. Just calling the schools has given me some app waivers good idea on that, thanks (if I go for this cycle)! Do you guys think I'm too late on this cycle everything prepared on LSAC ready to send out in one week, or next cycle only?

You should be fine applying at this time, but have you considered re-taking and applying next cycle?

Yes I have, considering it. I had a meltdown on the final section it was weird. Normally I'm -1--3 on lr, and I was -10, killed my score. I just can't see myself putting off another cycle my gf will kill me haha.

I here you man, but the difference between a 170 and a 167 could make the difference in terms of acceptances and $$$ so it might be worth it in the long-run. At the end of the day you need to make that choice though especially if you think you can improve that score. LSAT is key
